\"When-I-close_2\"When I close my eyes, I dream of peace \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>a piece for mixed choir in many languages.\u00a0My peace project.<\/p>\n

The title and text of this piece is only one sentence long. I found it in a book, said by an unidentified 11-year-old Croatian boy during the Balkan Wars.<\/p>\n

The sentence is sung here in a dozen different languages from different cultures and regions of the world: English, Russian, Mandarin, Swahili, Albanian, Croatian, Finnish, Swedish. Many of the melodies are built on scales from the regions where the languages are spoken.<\/p>\n

The piece will be published by Gehrmans<\/strong> in April.<\/p>\n

San Francisco & New York<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kronos Quartet<\/strong> and Ritva Koistinen<\/strong> will perform All Those Strings! on February 5 in San Franciso for the Kronos Festival 2016, and on April 2 at Carnegie Hall in New York.<\/p>\n
