{"id":4058,"date":"2025-11-18T11:16:42","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T10:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/karin-rehnqvist.se\/eng\/?p=4058"},"modified":"2025-11-18T11:27:53","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T10:27:53","slug":"music-publishers-association-prize-for-take-the-milky-way","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karin-rehnqvist.se\/eng\/music-publishers-association-prize-for-take-the-milky-way\/","title":{"rendered":"Music Publishers Association Prize for Take the Milky Way"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Karin Rehnqvist has been awarded\u00a0<strong>Musikf\u00f6rl\u00e4ggarna<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>the Swedish Music Publishers Association Prize 2025<\/strong> for her composition <em>Take the Milky Way<\/em>, for mixed choir and baroque orchestra<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;award&nbsp;ceremony&nbsp;took&nbsp;place&nbsp;in&nbsp;Stockholm&nbsp;on&nbsp;7&nbsp;November, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prize justifcation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 In Take the Milky Way we move away from the earth into desolate darkness where we join forces in a song of hope.&nbsp;Cosmic clusters, elements of folk music and timeless sonorities create their own musical galaxy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lyrics of the 12-minute piece was written by Kerstin Perski<em>&nbsp;<\/em>and is divided&nbsp;into the movements: Invisible threads \u2013 Rush \/&nbsp;<em>Black hole interlude<\/em>&nbsp;\u2013 Reach out your hand\u2013 And the journey continues<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Helsinki Chamber Choir&nbsp;and the&nbsp;Finnish Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Nils Schweckendiek performed the <a href=\"https:\/\/karin-rehnqvist.se\/eng\/world-premiere-of-take-the-milky-way-in-helsinki\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3808\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">world premiere at Helsinki Music Centre \u203a<\/a> in April 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Musikf\u00f6rl\u00e4ggarna<\/strong> is a non-profit trade organization representing 72 music publishers working in the territory of Scandinavia including Greenland and the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania).
