Svarteboka, i.e. the black book, poems and hymns, esoteric sources and witchcraft are the textual basis for a series of works by Nordic composers in the concert Svarteboka<\/em>. Including Karin Rehnqvist<\/strong>‘s new piece The Dream<\/em>, which is based on a poem by Rosa Taikon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a bad dream
I stood by the sea
Suddenly the sky went black
and the sun burned up
Birds screeching in the sky
The beating of their wings warning us of
evil times to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an intimate concert at the Crematorium<\/em> in Enskede, Stockholm, on February 23, 2024, The Dream will premiere. It is performed by the Norwegian singer Unni L\u00f8vlid<\/strong> (right) and the cellist Marianne Baudoin Lie<\/strong>.
Unni is a folk musician and singer from Horindal in Norway. Marianne is a cellist, chamber musician and active in Alpaca Ensemble<\/strong> and Trondheim’s Sinfonietta<\/strong>, Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert will also feature music by the composers Lasse Thoresen<\/strong>, Lene Grenager<\/strong>, Jon \u00d8ivind Ness<\/strong>, Ole Henrik Moe<\/strong> and Sven Lyder Kahrs<\/strong>. The front entrances are enhanced by glass, light and video projections signed by the artist Henrik Koppen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the works performed are inspired by folk music, unconventional tone systems and the singer’s and musician’s own expressions.
