Recently threatened with closure, the BBC Singers<\/strong>, Britain’s only professional choir, was saved thanks to massive support from both domestic and international audiences.
The BBC changed its plans and the choir will remain, with its principal conductor, Swedish Sofi Jeannin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

At 2.30 pm 6th of April, BBC Singers introduce a sequence for Maundy Thursday, conducted live at St Paul’s, Knightsbridge, London, by Sofi Jeannin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their performance includes music by Karin Rehnqvist<\/strong>, Domenico Scarlatti, Francis Poulenc, William Byrd and Judith Bingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rehnqvist’s I Raise My Hands<\/em> (Jag lyfter mina h\u00e4nder<\/em>), composed in 2018 and dedicated to the choral conductor Bo Johansson<\/strong>, will be sung in this afternoon concert, as well as Raphaella Aleotti: Miserere mei, Deus<\/em>, William Byrd: Lamentations<\/em>, Maddalena Casulana: Morir non puo<\/em>, Domenico Scarlatti: Stabat Mater a 10 voci<\/em>, Francis Poulenc: Quatre motets pour un temps de p\u00e9nitence<\/em>, Ghislaine Reece-Trapp: Omnes amici mei<\/em> and Judith Bingham: Watch with me<\/em>.
