[Baltic Sea Festival]<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

On 27 August, after a delay of two years, Karin Rehnqvist<\/strong>\u2019s Silent Earth<\/em> finally will receive its Swedish premiere during the Baltic Sea Festival<\/strong> in Stockholm. The Swedish Radio Choir,<\/strong> The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra <\/strong>and conductor Dima Slobodeniouk <\/strong>will perform the half-hour-long work that was described as \u201cbewildering and powerfully encouraging\u201d in the nomination for the Nordic Council\u2019s Music Prize<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karin Rehnqvist takes us out among the planets, where we can see the earth from a distance, in silence. Silent Earth is composed for mixed choir and symphony orchestra. The texts for the three movements are written by Kerstin Perski: Silent Earth \u2013 We, Who Once Were \u2013 The Burning Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
