{"id":2121,"date":"2021-08-28T18:20:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-28T17:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/karin-rehnqvist.se\/eng\/?p=2121"},"modified":"2021-08-28T18:20:04","modified_gmt":"2021-08-28T17:20:04","slug":"premiere-of-a-new-piece-night-chant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karin-rehnqvist.se\/eng\/premiere-of-a-new-piece-night-chant\/","title":{"rendered":"Premiere of a new piece \u2013 Night Chant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then maybe it&#8217;s time for the premiere of a Karin Rehnqvist new piece from 2021: <em>Musik i natten\/ Night Chant<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The premiere with the chamber music ensemble <strong>Norrbotten NEO<\/strong> was first planned for the Swedish Music Spring festival, Stockholm, in March 2021. It was canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next opportunity for Norrbotten NEO to perform the piece was planned for the B\u00e5stad Chamber Music Festival in early July. It was also canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now we are keeping our fingers crossed that the premiere can be in Lule\u00e5 on October 12, 2021, in connection with the tour Norrbotten NEO then begins; the concerts continue in Pite\u00e5 on 13\/10, in Stockholm&#8217;s concert hall on 15\/10, in \u00d6stersund on 17\/10 and in Ume\u00e5 on 19\/10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Night Chant<\/em> is written for seven instruments &#8211; alto flute, bass clarinet, vibraphone, piano, violin, viola, and cello &#8211; and composed for Norrbotten NEO to order Norrbotten music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sensitive senses in the night<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About <em>iNght Chant<\/em>, Karin Rehnqvist says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 At night, our senses are sensitive. Sound is experienced louder, light sharper. You have to be careful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Night Chant is about this when the senses are wide open. It should color the performance, played with the hearing set at night. The sound is therefore warm and dark, the shades are never really strong. You have to direct your ears to the music, meet the music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Flute and bass clarinet begin with singable motifs where dynamics and ornaments are important elements. The melodies seem to articulate.
