On March 27, 2021, there will be a pr\u00e8miere of a new suite with three pieces for choir by Karin Rehnqvist \u2013 Time is calling to you!<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performance is done during the festival Svensk Musikv\u00e5r <\/strong>in the concert hall Musikaliska, Stockholm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participating in the world premi\u00e8re are Gustaf Sj\u00f6kvist’s Chamber Choir<\/strong>, Mattias Rodrick<\/strong>, cello, and Anna Christensson<\/strong>, piano. The conductor is Florian Benfer<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suite of about 20 minutes contains the choral pieces V\u00e4rldsklockan<\/em>\/The World Clock (composed 2013) and newly composed Natt<\/em>\/Night and H\u00e4ftigt \u00e5skv\u00e4der<\/em>\/Heavy Thunder (from 2021). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lyrics are by the Swedish author Harry Martinson<\/strong> (1904\u20131978) and Karin Rehnqvist has chosen them from his collection Poems about light and darkness<\/em> from 1971. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karin Rehnqvist emphasizes the importance of being careful with herself and others in these times and says that her music “becomes softer, the sound more subdued”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
