Already in 1989, Karin Rehnqvist<\/strong> composed the work Timpanum songs \u2013 Herding calls\/ Puks\u00e5nger \u2013 <\/em>lockrop<\/i>, for two voices and timpanum. The piece contains traditional Swedish folk songs, poems by William Blake and Maria Sabina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1994 it was recorded with the singers Lena Willemark<\/strong> and Susanne Rosenberg <\/strong>and Helena Gabrielsson<\/strong>, percussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twenty-four years later, a section from Timpanum songs \u2013 Herding calls <\/em> reappears, the second movement that the composer has given the phonetic title Shi olvot<\/em>. It is a version for choir, which was performed by the Swedish Radio Choir<\/strong> under the direction of Fredrik Malmberg<\/strong> in a concert in Berwaldhallen, Stockholm, December 1, 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
