\"\"The 2017 edition of the festival for new music (the ninth edition) \u2013 Ultraschall Berlin<\/strong> \u2013 is all about the human voice, both as an instrument and a transmitter of meaning.<\/p>\n

The five-day event (18 \u2013 22 January) organised by Deutschlandradio Kultur<\/strong> and RBB Kulturradio<\/strong> is on investigations and experiments in sound. <\/p>\n

In this environment Karin Rehnqvist’s two works fitted very well; as examples of the Nordic sound and (folk) music traditions.<\/p>\n

In the concert hall of Radialsystem V at the river Spree in Berlin, the Saturday afternoon concert included Rehnqvist’s piece from 1998: Jag lyfter mina h\u00e4nder\/ I raise my hands, sung by Lena Willemark<\/strong> and on the clarinet Shizuyo Oka<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
