An\u00a0\u00a0eclectic group to the program as they join us in our mission to expand the 21st-century string quartet repertoire for young players.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laurie Anderson<\/strong>\u00a0(USA)<br \/>\n<strong>Raven Chacon<\/strong>\u00a0(Navajo Nation\/USA)<br \/>\n<strong>Guillermo Galindo<\/strong>\u00a0(Mexico\/USA)<br \/>\n<strong>Philip Glass<\/strong>\u00a0(USA)<br \/>\n<strong>Aleksander Ko\u015bci\u00f3w<\/strong>\u00a0(Poland)<br \/>\n<strong>Nicole Liz\u00e9e<\/strong>\u00a0(Canada)<br \/>\n<strong>Anna Meredith<\/strong>\u00a0(United Kingdom)<br \/>\n<strong>Kala Ramnath<\/strong>\u00a0(India\/USA)<br \/>\n<strong>Karin Rehnqvist<\/strong>\u00a0(Sweden)<br \/>\n<strong>Trey Spruance<\/strong>\u00a0(USA)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These ten composers will join the <a href=\"http:\/\/kronosquartet.org\/fifty-for-the-future\/composers\" target=\"_blank\">Year One artists<\/a>\u00a0in creating new works, which Kronos will then premiere around the world. In addition, KPAA will provide companion materials for each piece, including scores, parts, recordings, videos, performance notes, and composer interviews, all of which will be distributed online and made available at no charge.<\/p>\n<p><em><b>\u2013 <\/b>Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire<\/em>, a string quartet commissioning, performance, education, and legacy project of unprecedented scope and potential impact, the Kronos Quartet states.<\/p>\n<p>Kronos will commission a library of fifty works designed to guide young amateur and early-career professional string quartets in developing and honing the skills required for the performance of 21st-century repertoire.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kronosquartet.org\/fifty-for-the-future\/about\" target=\"_blank\">Read more about this project <\/a>\u203a<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2016\u00a0comes with ten\u00a0new\u00a0Fifty for the Future\u00a0composers and partners!
